This book is about how to understanding and using
english grammar. The writer remains a developmental skills text for students of
English as a second or foreign language. While focusing on grammar, it promotes
the development of all language skills in a variety of ways.
Each presentation is followed by graded activities
that promote speaking, listening, and writing skills. The revised edition
features an improved organizations, expansion and/or clarification of grammar
points, more illustations, and new excersises
the book consist of 10 chapter, each chapter have
theme. In every chapter have sub-bab which is explain the material
more spesific.
In chapter 1
there are explanation for Verb Tenses,
like the simple tenses, progressive tenses, perfect tenses, perfect
progressive tenses and many exercises which is support the material.
In chapter 2 there are explanation about Modal
Auxiliaries and Similar Expressions . This chapter tells how to use them. Like
using modals can, could, must, might. The modals can be appear with
subjekI, We, you, they etc.
This book have
many exercises so we can improve our skill with doing the exercises.
The material
is too simple, sometimes we can understand it, but the other chapter we should
pay attention or focus with the material, if not, we will confused. We should
have teachers to explain it.
COMPARISON
The third and fourth edition more fully develops
communicative and interative language learning activities, while keeping the
same basic appoach and material as in earlier edition.
There are some of the new
features in fourth edition are :*numerous “real communication” opportunities
*more options for interactive work in pairs and groups *additional open-ended
communicative tasks for both speaking and writing etc.
The revised edition features an improved
organizations, expansion and/or clarification of grammar points, more
illustations, and new excersises.
