MY WEEKEND

Last weekend, I went to my hometown, Tegal. I went to my hometown on Friday at 5 pm after all completed my lecture schedule. I returned to Tegal by "Kaligung Mas" train. At 7 pm, I arrived at Tegal railway station and my father had arrived at the station to pick me up. Directly, My father and I went to the home, Until to the home I immediately took a rest.

At Saturday morning, I was asked by my aunt to make up my nephew who will follow fashion show contest in her school to celebrate her School Anniversary. After that I helped my mother and my aunt cooked for a family gathering event which falls on tomorrow. Start to cook staple dish, dessert, until snack. My family and I cooked some meal for the event tomorrow morning until 10 pm.

The next day, I woke up before dawn to prepare everything else, ranging from dishes, until cleaned up the place for the event. The event ran from 9 am until 12 noon. After the event was over, my family and I cleared my home. We finished up the home at 2 pm.

We were very tired after yesterday and today was busy preparing for this event. Praise the show smoothly and very satisfying because we prepared to mature. This is my weekend events before I came back to Semarang.

GUCI INDAH

Guci Indah is tourism attraction in Tegal. This place is located near Slamet mountain. To get to the attraction, it takes an hour from the Down Town. It is about 40 kms to the south. There are so many hot springs. The way to the attraction has beautiful amazing landscape. We will pass through some nice green hills and the way is interesting because it has up down tortuous way. Guci has fresh cold air. Guci Indah is popular great tourism attraction in Central Java, especially in Tegal.

Final Exam of Book Report and Review "THE LITTLE PRINCE"

THE LITTLE PRINCE

The Author      : Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Published        : in 1943

The Little Prince has written in France language, but it has been translated into 180 languages for all readers around the world. This novel tells there is a little boy who loves to draw. But, when he showed the picture to an adult, they told him to stop drawing and start learning other things. Finally, the little boy stopped drawing and grew to become a pilot.

One day the pilot is stranded in the Sahara desert when his plane crashed. He tried to fix his plane because he had only enough drinking water for one week. In this desert, he met the little prince asked him to draw a sheep. The pilot admitted that he could not draw a sheep, but eventually he would. After  some images initially rejected by the prince, the pilot draws a box and said “ there is a sheep in the box”. Not unexpectedly prince liked.

The little prince came from a very small planet, smaller than a house. On the planet, he has a rose and 3 volcanoes, 2 active and 1 inactive. Every morning after he finished taking care of himself, he began to take care of the planet.

Once, the little prince leaves his beloved planet to travel to some other planets. On the first planet, he meets a king who wants to be obeyed absolutely. On this planet, he learned many things about the power and obedience.

In the second planet, he met with a very arrogant person, who wants to be praised, and the journey continues to the third planet inhabited by a drunkard. The next planet was inhabited by businessman who is very busy and serious to count the stars, which in fact didn’t have. And the fifth planet inhabited by people who turn on the lamp and sixth planet inhabited by cartographer/geographer. In each planet, the little prince learns a lot of things, which led him to conclude the adults it is strange, really strange.

Then came the prince in the last planet, the Earth. On Earth, he is an awful a lot to get a lesson on the meaning of existence, the existence of the planet, it is also about life. He fell in the desert and was surprising how big this planet. Earth is remarkable place.

On the Earth, he met with a snake with the power to send someone to their home planet. Then, he met with a desert flower. After that, the prince climbs the mountain to see the world more clearly and were surprised when hearing their own echo. He thinks that humans are very odd because they always repeat what he said.

Prince was up to the garden full of roses. He was surprised because he thought that his rose specials and the only one in the world. The princess was crying. Then the prince met with a fox, and he tame the fox.

After a few days with the prince, the pilot dying of thirst, but he and the little prince finally found a welt. After thinking for a moment, the little prince says goodbye to the pilot because it was time to return to his home planet. The prince finally volunteered himself bitten by a snake to get back to his planet. The next day, the pilot thought that the little prince had returned to his home planet because he didn’t find her everywhere.

            I think this novel very interesting because, in this novel the author conveyed some moral value to us. One of them is we must take responsibility for what we have done, even though it occurred in the past. Happy Reading Guys!

TREASURE ISLAND

“The Treasure Island is a story about Jim Hawkin’s adventure to look for Captain Flint’s treasure.”

The Author :

Robert L. Stevenson

 Character : Jim Hawkins, Hawkins’ Father, Dr. Livesey, Captain Bill, The Stranger, Squire Trelawney, Long John Silver, Captain Smollet, Ben Gunn.

Summary : Jim Hawkins adventures to look for Flint’s treasure that Captain Bill mandated to him before he was died. In his journey, he find many accident that made him don’t want to adventure again.

Plot :

Exposition : Jim Hawkins live at inn with his family when he was twelve years old.

Rising Action : When Jim Hawkins admit with Captain Bill that claim to be Captain Flint.

Climax : Jim Hawkin’s started to adventure to look for Captain Flint’s treasure that Captain Bill mandated to him with Dr. Livesey.

Falling Action : Jim Hawkins met Ben Gunn, the occupant of the island.

Resolution : Finally the treasure was found by them and it shared to each other.

Treasure Island is not a true story. The treasure Island also not a real place. But there were pirates in many parts of the world in the eighteenth century. 

            There were pirates in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and the China Seas. Ship went from South America to Spain. These ship carried gold, silver and goods across the Caribbean, and they were often attacked by pirates. The pirates killed the sailors and stole everything in the ship.

Evaluate The Author’s Idea :

These book have a good stories, but the weakness from this book is from the picture. The picture are unclear.

This book is about how to understanding and using english grammar. The writer remains a developmental skills text for students of English as a second or foreign language. While focusing on grammar, it promotes the development of all language skills in a variety of ways.

Each presentation is followed by graded activities that promote speaking, listening, and writing skills. The revised edition features an improved organizations, expansion and/or clarification of grammar points, more illustations, and new excersises

the book consist of 10 chapter, each chapter have theme.  In every chapter  have sub-bab which is explain the material more spesific.

   In chapter 1 there are explanation for Verb Tenses,  like the simple tenses, progressive tenses, perfect tenses, perfect progressive tenses and many exercises which is support the material.

    In chapter 2 there are explanation about Modal Auxiliaries and Similar Expressions . This chapter tells how to use them. Like using modals can, could, must, might. The modals can be appear with subjekI, We, you, they etc.

   This book have many exercises so we can improve our skill with doing the exercises.

   The material is too simple, sometimes we can understand it, but the other chapter we should pay attention or focus with the material, if not, we will confused. We should have teachers to explain it.

COMPARISON

The third and fourth edition more fully develops communicative and interative language learning activities, while keeping the same basic appoach and material as in earlier edition.

There are some of the new features in fourth edition are :*numerous “real communication” opportunities *more options for interactive work in pairs and groups *additional open-ended communicative tasks for both speaking and writing etc.

The revised edition features an improved organizations, expansion and/or clarification of grammar points, more illustations, and new excersises.

Menu bar adalah barisan menu yang menampilkan perintah-perintah yang digunakan untuk mengatur dan mengolah obyek. Masing–masing menu mempunyai submenu dan perintah. Pada modul ini dijelaskan fungsi sub–submenu yang sering digunakan dalam perangkat pengolah grafis CorelDraw X3.

• Open : Membuka lembar kerja yang tersimpan
• Close : Menutup lembar kerja

B. Standard Toolbar
Standard Toolbar merupakan kumpulan dari ikon-ikon yang berfungsi untuk pengolahan layar utama CorelDRAW X3, misalnya untuk membuat lembar kerja baru, membuka lembar kerja yang telah disimpan, mencetak lembar kerja.

• New (Ctrl+N): Membuat lembar kerja baru
• Open (Ctrl+O): Membuka dokumen lembar kerja
• Save (Ctrl+S) : Menyimpan lembar kerja
• Print (Ctrl+P) : Mencetak lembar kerja
• Cut (Ctrl+X) : Memotong objek
• Copy (Ctrl+C) : Menyalin objek
• Paste (Ctrl+V) : Meletakan data hasil menyalin
• Undo : Kembali kekondisi sebelumnya

C. Tool Box
Toolbox merupakan kumpulan tombol yang digunakan untuk membuat dan memodifikasi obyek. Secara default toolbox terletak di bagian kiri lembar kerja. Dengan fasilitas toolbox anda dapat memodifikasi obyek, seperti mengubah bentuk obyek, mendistorsi obyek, mewarnai obyek, memberikan efek-efek tertentu, dan sebagainya.

• Pick tool : Untuk memilih objek, memindah objek,memutar objek , mengubah ukuran objek dan lain – lain
• Shape tool : Untuk mengubah bentuk objek, seperti melengkung garis kurva, mengeser dan menghapus node edit, dan lain-lain
• Smudge brush : Untuk mendistorsi suatu objek dengan klik dan geser pada garis objek tersebut
• Roughen brush : Untuk mencacah objek kurva
• Free transform tool : Untuk memutar objek secara bebas
• Crop tool : Untuk memotong objek dengan menyeleksinya terlebih dahulu
• Knife tool : Untuk memotong objek secara langsung
• Eraser tool : Untuk menghapus objek seperti menggunakan alat penghapus
• Virtual segment delete : Untuk menghapus objek tertentu
• Zoom : Untuk memperbesar tampilan lembar kerja
• Hand tool : Untuk menggeser lembar kerja seperti menggunakan tangan
• Freehand tool : Untuk membuat garis bebas seperti menggambar dengan pensil
• Bezier tool : Untuk membuat garis kurva lengkung maupun garis lurus dengan klik atau klik dan geser
• Artistic media tool : Untuk membuat garis artistik seperti menggunakan spidol kaligrafi.
• Pen tool : Memiki fungsi yang sama dengan Bezier Tool, yaitu untuk menggambar objek kurva lengkung atau garis lurus. Bedanya,kalau Pen Tool saat membuat titik-titik penghubung diikuti garis lurus tetapi pada Bezier Tool tidak.
• Polyline tool : Berfungsi sama dengan Freehand Tool, digunakan untuk menggambar objek bebas. Bedanya kalau menggambar dengan Polyline Tool maka saat anda mengeklik titik kedua dari objek yang dibuat maka masih ada garis yang mengikuti arah panah mouse, sementara Freehand Tool tidak.
• Point curve tool : Untuk menggambar garis kurva lengkung dengan langkah simple
• Interactive conector tool : Untuk menghubungkan satu objek dengan objek lain
• Dimension tool : Untuk membuat garis dimensi dengan alat bantu untuk mengukur tinggi objek
• Smart fiil tool : Untuk memberi warna pada objek tertutup dengan cepat. Tombol ini juga menghasilkan bentuk objek baru sesuai dengan bidang yang diberi warna
• Smart drawing tool : Untuk menggambar garis bebas yang dapat dikenali dengan bentuk dasar objek dan selanjutnya akan dikonversi secara otomatis oleh CoreDRAW menjadi suatu bentuk objek tertentu.
• Rectangle tool : Untuk menggambar objek persegi panjang atau bujur sangkar
• 3 point rectangle tool : Untuk menggambar objek persegi empat atau bujur sangkar dengan tiga titik point
• Ellipse tool : Untuk menggambar objek lingkaran

• Interactive envelope tool : Untuk melipat/mengubah bentuk objek dengan car menggeser handle
• Interactive extrude tool : Untuk mengubah objek menjadi 3 dimensi
• Interactive transparency tool : Untuk membuat warna objek menjadi transparan
• Eyedropper tool : Untuk mengambil warna dari objek tertentu
• Paintbucket tool : Untuk mewarnai sebuah objek setelah mengambil warna dari objek lain menggunakan eyedropper tool
• Outline tool : Untuk mengatur pembuatan garis outline. Tombol ini mempunyai pilihan tombol lain yang berfungsi untuk mewarnai dan mengubah ukuran objek garis
• Fill tool : Untuk mewarnai bidang objek. Tombol ini mempunyai pilihan tombol lain yang berfungsi untuk mengisi atau menghapus warna bidang objek
• Interactive fill tool : Untuk mewarnai bidang objek dengan berbagai macam pilihan warna
• Interactive mesh fill tool : Untuk memecah warna dalam sebuah objek


D. Property Bar
Property Bar merupakan baris perintah yang unik karena tampilannya akan selalu berubah dan perintah-perintah yang ada di dalamnya akan menyesuaikan dengan icon yang sedang aktif pada tool Box. Misalnya, tool Box sedang aktif pada Zoom Tool akan memunculkan property dari Zoom tool. Demikian juga dengan tool–tool yang lain. Di sini kita akan dapat lebih cepat dalam mengakses perintah-perintah yang berhubungan dengan tool yang sedang aktif.

• Paper type/size : Untuk mengatur tipe/ukuran kertas/lembar kerja secara default
• Paper widht and hight : Untuk mengatur ukuran kertas/lembar kerja
• Potrait : Untuk mengatur posisi kertas berdiri/memanjang
• Landscape : Untuk mengatur posisi kertas tidur/melebar
• Drawing unit : Untuk mengatur satuan ukuran yang digunakan
• Zoom level : Untuk mengatur tampilan lembar kerja
• Zoom in : Untuk membesarkan tampilan lembar kerja
• Zoom out : Untuk mengecilkan tampilan lembar kerja
• Zoom page : Untuk menampilkan semua lembar kerja

• To back of layer : Untuk menyembunyikan objek di bawah layar
• Convert to curves : Untuk mengubah objek menjadi kurva

• Font size : Untuk mengatur besar huruf pada Property Bar Text Tool
• Bold : Untuk menebalkan huruf pada Property Bar Text Tool
• Italic : Untuk memiringkan huruf pada Property Bar Text Tool
• Underline : Untuk memberikan garis bawah huruf pada Property Bar Text Tool
• Horizontal alignment : Untuk meratakan tulisan horizontal
